You may choose to volunteer once a year, once a month or once a week...the options are endless. Volunteer positions are open to all individuals, without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability. Volunteer OpportunitiesOffice AssistantVolunteers assist the paid staff with filing, reception, copying, and assembling outreach and education materials. Client Service TeamSome volunteers are trained to provide direct service to people living with HIV/AIDS. The team functions as a support network for our clients and families. Prevention EducationEducators develop, evaluate and present programs and instructions to audiences such as organizations, students, and community leaders. A great way to enhance your public speaking and presentation skills. Risk Reduction Counselors/HIV TestingSome volunteers receive additional training to conduct client-centered counseling sessions with an emphasis on risk reduction and behavior change. Risk Reduction Counselors provide free and anonymous HIV Testing in conjunction with the County of Santa Cruz. Outreach Task ForceOutreach volunteers conduct individual and group outreach. Emphasis is placed on risk reduction for targeted risk populations. Outreach volunteers provide risk assessments and work with members of the community to reduce the rate of HIV transmission.
